On April 25, Ambassador Zeng Fanhua and Papua New Guinea Defense Minister Joseph attended the donation ceremony of Chinese disaster relief materials to Papua New Guinea at Jackson International Airport in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea.

Ambassador Zeng said that as a good partner of mutual assistance, China empathizes with the recent disasters such as floods and earthquakes in Papua New Guinea. Last week, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, visited Papua New Guinea and announced that a batch of disaster relief materials would be provided to Papua New Guinea. Today, the batch of materials arrived as scheduled. This is the latest achievement of China in implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. It is believed that this batch of materials will help the affected people in Papua New Guinea to cope with the disaster and rebuild their homes.

Joseph said that on behalf of the Papua New Guinea government and people, he thanked China for its timely assistance, and Papua New Guinea will distribute it to the disaster area as soon as possible.
