Ambassador Zeng Fanhua attended the meeting between Prime Minister Marape and Professor Lin Zhanhui of Papua New Guinea

On May 23, Prime Minister Marape of Papua New Guinea met with Professor Lin Zhanhui, the inventor of Juncao technology, in Port Moresby and had breakfast together. Ambassador Zeng Fanhua of China to Papua New Guinea attended the meeting.

Marape expressed his sincere gratitude to President Xi Jinping for personally promoting the Juncao Upland Rice Technology Cooperation Project in Papua New Guinea, and thanked Professor Lin Zhanhui and the Chinese expert group for their hard work in Papua New Guinea for more than 20 years. The implementation of the Juncao Upland Rice Project has achieved remarkable results and played an important role in the agricultural development and poverty reduction of Papua New Guinea. The Papua New Guinea government is committed to continuously deepening cooperation with China and will continue to actively support the development of the Juncao Upland Rice project, promote it in more provinces in Papua New Guinea, and benefit more people in Papua New Guinea.

Professor Lin introduced the current status and latest achievements of the Juncao Upland Rice Technical Assistance Project in Papua New Guinea, saying that Juncao technology has great potential and broad prospects for cooperation in Papua New Guinea. The Chinese expert group will continue to take root in Papua New Guinea, bring Juncao Upland Rice technology to more provinces and people in Papua New Guinea, improve the level of technology application and industrialization, and make greater contributions to the economic and social development of Papua New Guinea.

Ambassador Zeng thanked Prime Minister Marape for his high attention and strong support for the Juncao Upland Rice Project, and said that the Chinese Embassy will further implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote the Juncao Upland Rice Project and China-Papua New Guinea agricultural cooperation to achieve new developments.
