Welcome to the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Papua New Guinea

On July 11th local time, Yang Xiaoguang, the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Papua New Guinea, arrived at the Papua New Guinea Capital International Airport on an international flight this morning.

Ambassador Yang has brought rich experience to his new role.

In 2021, he served as the Ambassador and Chief Administrator of the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom. He began his illustrious career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in 1997.

From 2000 to 2004, Ambassador Yang was stationed at the Chinese Embassy in Australia and made significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations.

Ambassador Yang's diplomatic career further extended to the European Union. From 2015 to 2019, he served as the Counsellor and Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the European Union. He had also previously served in the European Union from 2009 to 2011.
